IMO he has moved ahead of Janek….his batting numbers are light years ahead and his arm is comparable as he throws out 25% of runners.
Also, about 6 months younger than Janek i believe.

I’ve watched a whole college softball game, a quarter of an NBA game and this Astros game is still going on. Astros up 11-9 in the 8th, who saw this in the crystal ball? 6 run 8th for the Stros

Hader looks good to start his MLB season. Dots his 1st 2 pitches at 95 and 96 on his first batter.
It usually takes Abreu 10 pitches to throw his first 2 strikes when he’s brought in

It was wild, especially when you consider how bad our pitching was except for King and Hader. Spencer and each of the youngsters out of the bullpen had some issues. But the Pitt 8th inning meltdown was wild enough that Matthews got to strike out twice in that inning.

I think this new hitting coach may be the real deal. Heard him interviewed and he brings fresh ideas and a new mindset that was sorely needed after that turd of a season last year. Just look at Walker!! Hope Cam stays hot, outfield as a group a solid A- thus far.

I was wondering why Collin Price had not been given a shot.
Salazar is a bullpen catcher….not that Price is all that but he has a huge frame with plus power when he connects.
He had 18 HR’s at SL last year….this year he has 10 already with an .836 OPS.
Quite a bit better than CS….love seeing guys get well deserved promotions.
I don’t care for the other add at all.
I guarantee Dana picked him up because this year in the minors he has two more walks than K’s( still only hitting .250)
Loperfido just finished a rehab assignment….why are we putting a 32 year old with a negative WAR last year in 242 AB’s in MLB last year….to go along with his .167 average and .524 OPS.
I’d much rather see Joey getting those AB’s than a washed up retread that I’m sure Dana knew from years back.
He keeps adding guys like this….they waste time and then are let go….wash and repeat.
