But! Has any team gotten more production from a bunch of converted infielders and a slappy?
Sigh, roster construction…

Random story - Her ex-husband performed a surgery on my hand before he became a coke head. You might remember Dr. Brown from a bunch of tv commercials in the 90s and maybe early 2000s. His life spiraled out of control, but he fixed my hand up.
So what I hear you saying….is that your hand took heavy touching from the same hand that took on heavy touching of Jeff’s wife. ![]()

Didn’t he love the bottle more than the game…?
Interesting nickname for a woman…
I think she goes by Flo
The Astros first pick will be #17. They also have pick #28 due to Hunter Brown finishing top 3 in AL Cy Young last year.
Why would the Astros get a pick at #28 for HB finishing top 3?
What is the motivation? To get draft picks in the majors faster?
Maybe to keep teams from playing that salary game where they keep highly rated prospects on the farm until a certain date where it benefits their books…
Can’t remember all the details of that scenario…
Bingo….and to not play the “service time “game.
Ha… Yeah… didn’t realize Funk was saying the same thing except much more succinctly…
I don’t know about that, but it sounds like he had a problem with authority and didn’t give a flip about anyone else.
Imho there is a basic recipe for building a juggernaut. You need a core of three elite starters you can ride for 4-5 years.
You need a top tier SS that can hit for power.
You need at least two high RBI guys. Top 15 RBI minimum.
You need a shotgun arm at catcher.
And you need great speed in you CF position.
The rest you can fill in the gaps with high BA or OPS, great base speed, versatile utility guys, and high IQ guys.
We only have chunks of all this now. And we’re under erosion and the project costs are sky high.
I’ll be available for PM for any of you needing counseling. But beware. I’m a natural pessimist.
Add: competent general manager.
Joe loves him some King……rode that guy to a loss last night.
'Stros take OF Logan Hughes from TT.
Fwiw
Mid 2nd projection.
Bama SS I liked went next.
Ace Reece was there.
Hughes was a fantastic pick….great hit tool with power.
He had 50 BB to only 33 k to go with a .510 OBP….big predictor of future success.
People really have to get away from draft boards when it comes to baseball.
IMO Lebron is going to be a major bust….his hit tool is horrible….when you hear “toolsy” it means you can’t hit.
He hit less than .200 on 93 mph and above….you are not “fixing” that.
Horrible pick by Reds.
Wouldn’t be mad at Jackson at #28….
Also like Thome’s kid who is a prep SS….Another prep SS Spangler ( if injuries are checked) he would be a great pick.
I don’t like taking arms in the top 2 rounds but so many good ones are available be interesting to see what Dana does.
