I love me some Astros and there is a lot of baseball left but even if I squint really hard, I can’t see a championship team. I think they will go on mini runs that tease us into thinking post season is possible…but…no.
But it is a joy to watch Yordan hit a baseball. It is worth watching 162 just for that.

I don’t think I can stick with a full season of Abreuton at 1B and whatever they’re doing with Cabbage. It’s like stepping on a rake every day and not understanding why that knot your forehead won’t go away.

Yeah I understand. The Astros are an addiction for me. I love them but this management team is unbelievably bad. Singleton batting cleanup? Abreu playing at all?

IMO there are three core players they probably don’t mess with. Altuve, Tucker, and Yordan.
Yainer, Loperido, and Brown are probably safe. After that it’s wide open.
Keep Peña, B. Abreu, Arrighetti, and Dubon.

Espeda goes from Peña to Singleton in the 4 hole. There’s no rhyme or reason to it. Does he just throw darts at the board? Peña is not a cleanup hitter.

True….but Singleton is not even a hitter.
It truly is like he thinks he’s outsmarting everyone….as though Abreu and Singleton and even Cabbage are going to all start mashing and he’s going to be able to say “told you so”.
Whatever, it’s his job on the line….at this point I don’t think we can say Dana is making him play certain guys….We know Dana loves Loperfido….he was on the air last week Joey needed to be playing a lot….then he sat three games and was optioned back.
I gotta believe this is self sabotage on Espada’s part.

Yeah, and we’re stuck with it. I don’t see them making a change in the middle of his first season - that would be admitting a huge hiring mistake.
We’re just gonna have to watch him keep wrecking his bicycle unless he adjusts to not having training wheels.
