Houston Athletics APR Scores Continue to Rise

Eleven of Houston’s 17 sport programs increased or equaled their previous year’s APR scores, including the three aforementioned programs (Men’s Cross Country, Women’s Golf and Women’s Cross Country) scoring perfect scores of 1,000.

Nine of the 17 programs scored higher than the NCAA average in their respective sports, while three programs ranked first in The American - Men’s Cross Country, Women’s Golf and Women’s Cross Country. Men’s Golf and Men’s Track & Field ranked second in The American.

In all, 15 of Houston’s 17 sport programs were at least 30 points above the NCAA’s required minimum score of 930 while seven programs were above 990 – Men’s Cross Country, Women’s Golf, Women’s Cross Country, Softball, Men’s Golf, Swimming & Diving and Tennis.

Houston Women’s Basketball had the largest single-year increase from last season’s release among the eight teams that showed improvement with a 32-point increase. Houston Baseball, Men’s Basketball, Men’s Track & Field (Indoor & Outdoor), Women’s Cross Country, Soccer and Swimming & Diving also increased their previous year’s scores.

Three teams equaled their scores from the previous year, including two of the three programs with perfect scores, Men’s Cross Country and Women’s Golf, as well as Men’s Golf with 994 points.
