Houston Athletics NIL

I just keep thinking about what Coach Fritz would be able to do if he was given money like the basketball team. I know Coach Sampson has complained publicly about their financial situation but our football team is what is really hurting. I saw a report that we are last in all of Power 4 in football revenue sharing, while being at the top of basketball.

Just crazy that Coach Fritz was able to win 10 games with that ting level of financial buy-in.

The problem with our program(s) is that we cosplayed like we’ve been a Power School for the last 30 years (and rightfully so, what other choice did we have?) despite the fact that there is almost a multi-generational / multi-decade gap that we didn’t get to capitalize on to build an alumni-donating pool.

We are just starting to set the foundation of that.

The good news? We have buy-in to our programs culturally, but we have to catch up fiscally. The door closed right behind us. We got lucky and we have to take advantage NOW.

What do you mean by “buy in culturally?”

Well Kelvin doesn’t really need explaining.

Fritz is building a culture here, that athletes are buying into and aren’t just getting distracted by NIL deals.

One of my buddies who is close to someone in that office said that they have the least amount of funding in all of Power 4. Think Keisean and that transfer class are just bought in to what Coach Fritz is building.

Imagine what he could do with some legit financial backing.

Least amount in all power 4? I do not think thats true…I think our money is more in middle of Big 12 rather than at the bottom. And our recruiting reflects that.

College football’s No. 1 WR offered $10 million to transfer to major program

Tradition is dead

But what’s the hard truth? → Tradition relies on exploitation of student athletes

CKS has put in the blood, sweat and tears….he was not gifted anything in the beginning….he soon put together NCAA teams with little to no resources.

I don’t think we could have hired a better coach than Willie Fritz….last season was top notch and IMO this season will be even better.

Football will have an improved money situation soon enough….Fritz knows this.

Patience….dont know why you think football deserves everything basketball has EARNED.
