Houston Athletics, OT: Group 1 Automotive Announce Multi-Year Partnership -

I believe these are the kind of partnerships EN was hired to bring about. Certainly this is the type of partnerships we’ve all discussed wanting us to land.

This sounds like a big deal. $$$

I wonder if this is a “win” from Eddie Nunez or if this was already in the works before he got here.

Still, I’m glad we have at least 1 new partnership (that seems like maybe it can move the needle?) since NIL started.

So, really thorough partnership touching on a myriad of avenues. But the first 2 things that came to mind (benefit-wise) regarding Houston Athletics, was….

Luxury rides for the Football, Basketball, and Baseball coaches and…

…an undisclosed amount of $ to be funneled into both the Athletic Department and NIL. How much? …and is anyone obligated to say?

Already have a thread on this….

Merge?

The article states that Group I will “create enhanced engagement opportunities for alumni, including…vehicle offers…”

Okay, I’m listening.

No I don’t think they are.

I noticed their ads during the basketball game, but I had no clue what business it was.

They own hundreds of dealerships for many brands

They’re the ones that add on extra stuff to cars over msrp.

Another Bucket #2 example!

I dont know much about this kind of stuff, but this seems VERY BIG for UH! Great job by Nunez.

Kudos to those who spotted their marks at basketball this week before the announcement.

We’re really excited to have this across the finish line. Eddie Nunez, Alvin Franklin, and Shane Hildreth (General Manager of Houston Cougars Sports Properties) have put in a lot of work for this one. Grateful to have them on board!

I envision all kinds of promotions for us including ticket sales., P.O.S. etc…

Had no idea Shane was with UH. His dad Jamie, was an amazing guy.
