Houston Chronicle

I recently sold my soul and against my better judgement, subscribed to the daily Chronicle. Not since 1995 have I had home delivery of the Post but I miss it. Heck - as a kid in the 80’s I’d throw the afternoon Houston Chronicle, remember that!

Honestly, enjoying my mornings away from the digital world for a breather. Much thinner of course as I last remember it but overall pleasantly surprised thus far. Yes! I’ve read cancelling is a royal pain. In that case, I may just take a trek for a cancellation tour at 4747 when that time comes.

MY POINT & QUESTION? When in the blue hell is their print deadline these days? 3, 4p? I get Mondays scores, Wednesday. Tuesday results Thursday and so on. What’s up with that?! Back in the day all scores were included minus the west coast ones.

Thank you.

If I’m not mistaken, you could just sign up with a prepaid, gift card. Just reload it every month.

I think subscription renewals are mostly annual at this point anyway, which makes this strategy a little easier.

Monthly.

If you can, try prepaid.

Ironically, the best way to cancel is go through their editorial board.

I let my subscription lapse two years ago. The last straw for me came on January 15, 2023. On the front page of the viewpoints section appeared a large photo of a drag queen accompanied by the subheading “A BEACON AMID THE DARKNESS,” all-caps, no less.

I’m so sorry you had to go through that. It sounds truly harrowing.
