This coaching staff is making inroads around the state and has a lot of positives to sell recruits. UH can now talk about being a P4, winning bowl games, facilities, and a big one…having a realistic chance at the CFP.
You have football families in Dallas and Austin talking up UH to other football families, and the buzz starts growing organically. If UH keeps winning this year, the buzz will turn into a loud roar.
I hope the Coach’s Caravan hits some spots in Southwest Louisiana. Not everyone from Louisiana can play at LSU, and UH should strive to be the second choice for those players. Lots of talent in Louisiana.
I feel the same (disappointed) as 88coog there isn’t an event in The Woodlands. I can’t remember when there was not an event in The Woodlands. Maybe 2013 or earlier?

What did chatgpt came up with?
1. Houston
Houston is arguably the deepest talent pool in the country.
Massive population + year-round football culture
Elite high school programs like North Shore, Katy, and Duncanville (nearby)
Produces Power 5 athletes at nearly every position
If you’re recruiting Texas, Houston is ground zero.
2. Miami (South Florida)
South Florida is famous for speed and skill-position talent.
DBs, WRs, RBs are elite-level athletes
Dense concentration of top programs (Miami-Dade & Broward County)
Highly competitive, fast style of play
Some of the fastest players in college football come from here.
3. Atlanta
Atlanta has exploded into a national recruiting powerhouse.
Georgia high school football is elite and extremely well-coached
Strong in both skill and line positions
Close proximity to SEC programs drives development
Consistent pipeline to top-tier college programs.
4. Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW Metroplex)
DFW is similar to Houston in volume but often noted for QB and OL development.
Huge suburban school districts with top facilities
Highly competitive 6A football
Produces polished, college-ready athletes
One of the most heavily recruited regions in the U.S.
5. Los Angeles (Southern California)
Southern California is known for high-end, technically refined talent.
Strong QB, WR, and defensive back production
Elite coaching and 7-on-7 culture
National exposure and camps
Produces both elite recruits and NFL-ready athletes.
Honorable Mentions
New Orleans – underrated, produces tough, physical players
Tampa – growing talent base
Phoenix – emerging recruiting area
Birmingham – traditional SEC-style talent
Recruiting budget is a sensible issue. In a perfect world we would hit all of these places. HCWF was clear from the beginning. He favors, greater Houston area, Texas and Louisiana. How can we blame him? Again, we do not have a USC or bama budget.
What we know for a fact is that HCWF and his staff have done a great job analyzing and recruiting talents. As we get better our recruiting will get stronger.
Remember:
“This ship has sailed”
This is what happens when a HC and its Coaching staff have pride in their job. I truly believe that. You can’t be successful if you do not work hard. Recruiting is very hard unless you are a top four program, even these are getting harder.
It would be better for the few of you that would attend to go down to Dallas instead of the effort to get all of the UH coaches, and other staff, to go up to OKC.
As a resident of San Antonio and STH for b-ball and football, it’s great to see they’re going beyond the Houston area to the increase exposure to fans and recruits.
Not really, Fritz spoke about past season and upcoming season, basically more depth this year coming up. Sampson spoke for awhile said we will be good, doesn’t know how good of course he said, but was optimistic. Nunez also spoke and all three of them asked for better attendance at football games and help with NIL, corporate donors etc
from Duarte’s story about the tournament expanding to 76 teams:
During UH’s coaches caravan stops in San Antonio on Wednesday, Sampson said the main topic wasn’t his roster or season outlook. It was about fundraising.
“Guess what? I don’t say a whole lot about our team,” Sampson said. “I talk about fundraising. In some ways that’s what they are doing with (this tournament expansion). We have to get out there and hustle and find new revenue streams.”
