I have my doubts about the underground freeway, but the impact on the topside will be huge.

This also helps UH in that it’s good for students to hang out there and they can get there by rail. The better the city , the better for UH bc it’s connected.

If we want students to have regular access to the city center, we gotta figure out better rail service. Every 20 minutes for the Purple Line on weekends is nowhere near frequent enough; we gotta at least halve that. It’s like a 30-minute trip to go from University Oaks to Convention District if you time your departure poorly.

The mayor is working on making rail cleaner, safer and faster as we speak per this article .

I was in Dallas last week and took the Dart from (near) Love Field to Plano. Transit police were on the train the entire way checking fares. They escorted the nonpayers off at each next stop where there were other transit officers there to issue citations. Cool system.

Part of the plan is to have police on every train and reduce wait times.

They said safety would be top priority.

I like the transformation of the convention center in that rendering, instead of the way it looks now. It currently looks like a very large boat.

Reminds me of the Alamodome. It looks like it should be floating up and down the mighty Mississippi.
