Outlook: Applewhite aggressively sought more talent for his roster and coaching staff during the offseason. The Cougars boast a strong defense, but they need to dramatically improve on offense in order to contend for an American Athletic Conference title.

Notables:

So they’ve got Temple, UCF, and Memphis as well as Arizona above Houston this year in the rankings.

“Safety Nick Watkins”

Do they know something we don’t?

Entire AAC is undervalued.

Offensive starters returning: 3

Offensive starters lost: 8

Defensive starters returning: 5

Defensive starters lost: 6

This is wrong, no?

Don’t think he’s counting King as the starter at QB. Otherwise, it should be 4 starters returning as he, Noble, Jones, and Jones are the returnees on offense.

On Defense, he’s correct if you don’t count Carter…although he was starting by the end of the year after returning from injury and had been a starter in the past Otherwise, it’s Oliver, Egbule, I.Johnson, Myres, and Davis on defense.

When I saw this I was curious too. There were 5 (or 6 depending in Catalon) bowl starters returning. But I think it is most starts at the position. Postma started 5 so he’d be considered the starter for this count

UH is sooo underrated

And CUSA is vastly overrated in this

It’s funny to me how in their take on our weaknesses, they start off talking QB and in the next breath King’s explosiveness. That’s no weakness. WR, yes, overall less experienced but they don’t mention the kid from Utah at all. I’ll remember his name after he catches a couple of touchdowns!
