http://quickpitches.blogspot.com/
Here is what the numbers looked like in the 1st 15 games of the season:
Batting average .219, 108 hits, 492 AB, 60 Runs, 161 K’s, 59 BB’s,
That’s about 7 hits, 4 runs, 10.5 strikeouts and just under 4 BB’s per game. Not going to get the job done.
Since then, during the 15-6 stretch the offense has looked like a different team posting these numbers:
BA .295, 210 hits, 711 ABs, 133 runs, 178 K’s, 74 BB’s
That’s 10 hits per game, 6.33 runs, 8.47 K’s and 3.5 BB’s
Pitching and defense wasn’t any better in those 15 games:
Innings pitched 130.2, hits 138, R 105, Earned Runs 87, K’s 86, BB 90,
Team ERA: 5.99, 9.5 runs allowed per 9 innings, 6.19 BB’s per 9 innings, WHIP: 1.74
Again the next 21 games have been much different
189.2 Innings, 202 hits, 111 Runs, 95 Earned Runs, 104 BB’s, K’s 125,
Team ERA: 4.51, 5.26 runs per 9 innings, 4.93 BB’s per 9, 1.61 WHIP
