“We had read about him. We knew he was going to be special,” Crumedy, the offensive coordinator at Manvel, said. “I remember some of the throws made us scratch our head and say, ‘Oh my God, we have our hands full.’”
Not to worry, though, as some of the concern was tempered by the fact Crumedy had his own “secret little weapon” in quarterback D’Eriq King.
“D’Eriq is so poised,” Crumedy said. “He was ready. Anytime you have D’Eriq King you have a chance.”
