How about that Indoor Practice Facility

Couldnt imagine practicing in this heat

They are going to play at least 3 games in it, they better get some time outside and get used to it

Exactly. Can’t control the schedule, but can control how you prepare. Team should be able to withstand the heat against Rice and should do better than Arizona in the humidity in early September.

Hope the nutrition staff is up to par because they’ll need to eat.

I haven’t said anything prior to now, but since it’s been brought up, I agree that using the facility because it’s hot is a mistake. Use it when the thunderstorms pop up so you don’t lose practice time. Don’t avoid the heat. It’s our ally…unless you are watching the game on the north side of TDECU!

Practicing in the heat is good some of the time; but it also drains the energy and takes away the precision. You want the guys to be fresh on game day. That is why pro teams go to cooler climates for their preseason camps. The players work all summer in the heat, but the indoor facility allows the bodies to recooperate more quickly.

BTW, as for the heat being our ally, all teams practice in the heat. It is hot in the summer at locations of every team we play this fall. Some more so than others. The teams all should be acclimated to the weather by late October. the teams we play in September and October are all hot weather teams.
