How do you get espn , FS1 , espnu etc if you want to drop cable tv?

Wondering how to drop cable and still get the sports channels.

What are options?

Directv Stream or YouTube TV.

Do you also want regional channels (Astros, and Rockets, assuming you live in Houston)?

You could try FUBO.

Fubo is you want Astros and rockets

I’ve used YoutubeTV for years and have no real complaints.

I live in Houston and just want the sports like espn etc. Would you tube work which I have

Thanks

I’ll try you tube or that fubo network mentioned below

ESPN + Fox One just launched and has the channels you asked about. It will not have the Space City Home Network (Astros & Rockets) nor Turner Sports channels TBS/TNT (NBA & NCAAB postseason, B12 NCAAF). Fubo Pro and Youtube TV would have those channels, but there is a big price difference. Non-promotional price for ESPN + Fox One is $50/mo, Fubo Pro is $85/mo.
Fubo Sports+ News is $55/mo and is similar to the ESPN/Fox package but includes CBSSN (20 B12 basketball games/year) and the NFL Network.

You’ll probably be happier with DirecTV Stream. I’ve had that and Fubo, and went back to DTV because Fubo doesn’t have TNT and other Turner stations, which is a problem during March Madness (they have some college football now, too).

DirecTV Stream also includes ESPN+ now.

End of day: you’re going to spend more and have more providers to manage than the one stop shop of Xfinity.

Sling blue and orange or whatever is 60/month. YTtv is the best one at idk 80/mo or something. I get most everything UH is on with sling though and that’s all I care about. I cancel it during the offseason

I don’t know about the cost comparison, but DirecTV Stream is pretty simple - no switching around except for ESPN+, which isn’t part of cable anyway.

The Houston-area people I know who have switched won’t be going back to XFinity, though.

Does Direct TV Stream show the Astros?

Yes, it has Space City Sports (or whatever it is now).

FWIW, I just saw that ESPN is no longer being carried by Youtube TV due to a carriage dispute.

I’m sure they’ll figure it out eventually, but who knows how long that will take.

There are other options but in the gray area…

Yeah this is not ideal and pretty terrible timing in the middle of the season.
