I’ve been using solar off and on for 10+ years. There is a learning curve but it is fun as Hell. I’m only now really seeing the strategy at the home DIY level. That said, if you’re doing it for yourself you have to spend the money and have a good strategy. My biggest accomplishment was generating pumping power to keep water flowing from the ground around my property. An asteroid may kill us all but I won’t die thirsty.
