all mid majors are not the same… if we got a 18 and 12 player from the MWC…i would be calling that guys to be an all-american for us
Now what we need is an analysis of Taze Moore showing there is no evidence he can play Division 1 Basketball because he did not transfer from the appropriate League.
Hadnot, who again I love, was also a good player 2 years ago, sure.
But there’s also no doubt he took a HUGE 1 year jump. He basically doubled his entire output last season.

the taze situation is what we are asking for, make a deep team , taze was on a deep team, that it lost two key guards and we could still pull taze out… no one is calling for the transfers to be kicked out of the team… but to add maybe another quality big… so “if” they dont work out, we’ll have options on the bench… we need all our bigs to workout with the current set up
side note: taze was a guard/wing… the nuance that we are discussing is bigs…the gap between guards at most organized basketball levels honestly isnt as big as most would think … the quality of bigs is where there is normally a big disparity

reality not matching expectation does not change the expectation hindsight
we ended up with a solid portal class anyways so i think we could’ve gotten one
thing is we probably aren’t well off enough to “select” the transfers we want like we can with HS recruits not to mention going prices are way higher now than what it was when we got edwards or cryer

@Joprior23 sampson clearly states tyus will be a practice player… this is before stepping a single second on the court, before a single practice. . it debunks the notion that their isnt a hierarchy when recruited
but back to point… but back to point… im okay with the guard situation… i still would want a low risk big… most of the bigs are new players, we shouldnt be holding loyalty to them overthe overall quality of the team, they have worn a jersey for us

According to RPI rankings. The year Yaxel was coming from the American it was the 11th ranked conference. This past season the MAC was ranked 14th: NCAA College Basketball RPI Rankings (updated today)
Took a while to find the net rankings but the American was also 11th for 2025, the MAC was 17th. So yeah, the American was a better league but not by the margin you stated.
And the top overall transfer rankings don’t always mean can’t miss, there are plenty of top 5 transfers that didn’t work out
