I thought the 2024 recruiting ship had sailed?

I think we are going to see a Texans like quick turnaround.

Amazing how quickly things turn around when you replace an incompetent coach with a competent organized disciplined coach with a plan and work ethic.

Naturally, the players he brings in help because the new coach understands which players can help instead of just guessing like the previous.

We’re replacing almost the entire o-line. If the replacements play well we could be better offensively. Not to mention, we’ll have a new OC calling plays. Fingers crossed.

Defensively, I think we’ll be improved with better coaching and depth. Initially I was concerned about the d-line depth with players transferring but I actually think Fritz upgraded by bringing in multiple transfers at the d-line and LB positions.

We sucked on offense and defense and scheme was a major factor in why we were so bad. I will take my chances on us being better just because we have a coach that understands teaching and has the ability to make in game adjustments.

I’m am banking on better coaching. The portal pick ups and the JUCO will need to be incremental pieces. We do have some young guys that are hopefully ready to get their shot at the rotation like Shaw, Ndukwe, Jones, Bowie and Davis . Maybe Garth will be a part of it to go with Hunter, Jenkins, Lee and Dunn

I will say at this point, I am optimistic and realistic. UH appears to be getting better, but so is most everyone else. Anything above .500 and a bowl game I will consider a success.

CFB success is 75% player talent and 75% coaching.

60% of the time it works, every time.

Makes as much sense as when athletes state they give over 100% effort in a game.

I must have missed that math class at UH.

Its 90% mental and the other half is physical.

If you aren’t giving 150%, are you even trying?

I think given the two weeks Coach Fritz and staff had to recruit, they have done a tremendous job !

This explains why he “red shirted” so many during his first season here . . . . .

That redshirt thing was trying to hold onto players that saw the light early on.

The redshirt thing was a reaction. It was hardly a plan or vision.

It also didn’t work and was very much a “quick fix” attempt.
