Usually agree with you Waco, but not here. Koby Young is a Rivals four star, Ridgle is rated an 88 by 247, Frederick is rated an 87 and had major offers, DJ Butler is a solid RB with offers from Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Kansas, WVU, and UCF, Stillman is a national top 50 juco with offers from Illinois, Texas Tech, Iowa State, Maryland, etc. I think we added some quality recruits. The only one I think of as something of a reach is Demarcus Johnson of Ft Bend Marshall, but as a 6’7, 250 athletic basketball player, he has big potential.

You are right I was a bit hasty in my comments . Young , Frederick, Ridgle and Joiner are all great commitments and improve our HS commits immensely . I think the JUCO guys are all good and meet our needs. I think the Tulane players we got from the portal also fill some urgent needs. Overall I think Willie and son (primarily) have done an outstanding job based on all the circumstances.

Dana is probably on some cruise ship right now that is heading to Costa Rica. Scouting small hotels on the coast line there that he can buy and live out the rest of his days at now that he doesn’t have to coach anymore.

We are 7th overall (high school plus transfer) in the new big 12 (7th out if 16) pretty crazy how well he has done. I would probably be happy with this if he had the whole year to recruit. Definitely raised the bar for my expectations for next year.

To be honest, anything more than 4 wins next season and closer, more disciplined teams, i will be happy.

I hadn’t really looked at the schedule, man you are right tough schedule. But I think we can do better than 4. Maybe wins va UNLV, Rice, Baylor , Iowa State and a win away from home.

I would have absolutely agreed with you when Fritz was hired.
I think bowl eligibility is possible next year.
And even better is that this “re-build” job is going to take a year or two less IMO.
Personally, I’m not going to put any limits on how well he and his staff might do.

Agree. With a new staff and the transfer portal who knows what will happen next year? Fritz was 2-10 in ‘21 and then 12-2 the following season. Northwestern went from 1-11 to 8-5 this year. A lot depends on what kind of play we get at QB and how well we rebuild the offensive line. Some positions look about as good as many Big 12 teams.

I’m a simple guy. I just want to see the defense get off the field at 3rd and 15/4th and 20, and the offense actually be able to run the football.
