Houston redshirt freshman quarterback Caleb McMickle is out for season with a torn ACL.
Running back Steve Polk suffered an Achilles injury and will miss the season.
Ouch.
McMickle showed some promise in the spring game.
So that means our qb depth chart this season is Smith/Chriss/Ale/Wijay

That’s 2 RBs out for the year. I don’t recall the depth order, so not sure how much this will impact the season, but in any case I would think less depth is not ideal.
Since Fritz is more of a running coach, this could affect our offensive philosophy for this year.

There has been a lot of talk about Sanford and the two freshmen, Burnette and Butler are highly regarded.

hmmmm…any relation to the Sherman Smith we had at WR in the early 90s that led the nation in receiving?
Just me, acknowledging haven’t attended training camp but Ui should be backing up Donnie. No reason he would be behind Chris except for politics.
Yeah I want the best people playing regardless of politics. We’ll see if Ale wins the backup job again.
