Hey gang, the season is finally upon us! And Ep 5 with our opening week game previews has dropped. Tom and I are so psyched for the real games to begin! Can’t believe we’ve already done 5 episodes, thanks so much again to all here for the awesome support & feedback. You’ll get a better sense of our intended podcast structure starting in this episode, so would love some feedback to improve as needed. Also, we had our 1st guests in Ep 4, so we’re looking for some of you all to potentially join us for some fun in future episodes
! thx again all!!
So Episode 6 has just dropped! Lots more Cougar hoops content after 3 games, with a bit of debate and some differences of opinion on players and future opponents. We also provide a preview of our Charlston Classic game (and potential games) before they begin tonight. Please give it a listen and thx so much for the continued support!
Happy Thanksgiving & Feast Week to everybody! Much to be thankful for, one of them being our head coach & the program he has built.
We made sure to drop Episode 7 during the best week of college basketball ahead of March. We recap the Charleston Classic & preview our upcoming games with Montana, Xavier & that non-rival across town. In addition we also highlighted our favorite Big East/Big 12 matchups. Hope y’all give us a listen because we appreciate it!
Listened to it on my trip to the in-law’s house this morning and loved it! I think you guys have a great format between the in-depth numbers and the practical stuff on the court.
Please don’t stop because this coog loves it.
Ashokan, thanks so much for the kind words of support
! It really means a lot. Even though it’s only our 1st season, we’re definitely committed. Hope to have an announcement soon that will reflect the awesome support we’ve received from posters here. Clearly we’re not the only ones that believe our hoops program deserves a podcast dedicated to just them
!!!
Happy Thanksgiving and stay safe!
Love love the movie.
OK for you hoops junkies amidst all of the Fritz Frenzy, Episode 8 has dropped for our No Conference for Old Men podcast! We cover the great win at Xavier and preview the upcoming big game vs aTm, final warm-up before conference play begins. Thanks to all for the continued support, it’s because of you that we’ve been able to establish a consistent sized audience from the get go that has exceeded all of our expectations 1st year in.
Thank you all so much
!!! Please have a listen, and we always welcome continued feedback.
I’ve been looking for a good hoops podcast
I listened this morning and with all the 20/20 hindsight in me, had to laugh at Tom’s prediction that UT would beat Marquette by 4. ![]()
Haha, yeah! We’ve all picked a number of doosies here in year 1. We were looking at our preseason predictions for the Big 12, and boy did we miss out on BYU, OU, and perhaps Cincy
!
Everyone, including BYU fans missed out on BYU.
Oklahoma is probably the next biggest miss for me personally.
I’m not sure how to feel about Cincy yet.
If I’m not mistaken, you guys play Cincy in your 1st Big 12 game? We’ll find out immediately with the 2 programs, truly “no conference for old men”
!
Hey gang, Episode 9 of No Conference for Old Men has just dropped. And I’m excited to announce that starting this episode, we are now formally part of the GoCoogs.com family of content covering Houston Cougars sports!!!
We’re super excited, and I wanted to send out a personal THANK YOU
to all of you here on CoogFans for supporting/listening to our podcast from day 1. Without your support, there is zero chance that this could have happened (especially so early on in this process). But thanks to all of you listening and providing feedback, we’ve been able to refine and hopefully improve the content for all to enjoy. Our podcast will also now be available to be consume on the GoCoogs.com website as well. So again, a big thank you to everyone here. Tom & I are so grateful for the continued support
!!!
Hey Gang,
Just wanted to let all know that the latest episode has dropped! Please download/listen if you get the chance. We provide summaries of our big 1st Big 12 win over WVU, as well as our 1st experience of life on the road in “no conference for old men” w/ a loss in Ames. Also we preview this week’s upcoming games vs TCU & Tech.
Thx for the support everyone
!!!
Loved the episode with Coach Bishop. Are you guys planning on doing any kind of preview for this season? I’m itching for some dedicated Houston Basketball content!
Absolutely! We’ll be recording it next week, unfortunately I’m the one holding things up. Am in Italy this week with the wife celebrating our 35th anniversary. Surprise this year is that we’ll have Jayme Hollingsworth on with us for our preview, so stay tuned!
Thx so much for listening!
I suppose celebrating 35 years of marriage in Italy is a legit excuse for the delay. Congrats!
Just wanted to let you all know that Episode #30 to kick off Season 2 was just published! Like last season, it’s our Houston Cougars Preview episode. Thanks to all for supporting our efforts and listening in. Direct Spotify Link is below, but as many here may already know we’re also a GoCoogs.com production! So I believe Ryan will be posting the YouTube Link in the GoCoogs.com Basketball Content thread as well (for those that prefer that platform). Thanks again everyone, hope you enjoy the episode! We’ll be back to our weekly cadence now that the season is kicking off.
Hey Gang. As Ryan posted in the UH/Aub thread, we just released our latest episode. Wanted to just add some additional context as well with this one. We actually took feedback from here on last year’s initial preview episodes and applied them to this season. So we focus on UH-first w/ the Aub preview, but we also pack in the Big 12 & National Previews into this episode. So 3 episodes in 1 in trying to keep the non-UH content tighter. Hope we hit the mark!
And also for those that have followed us directly on Spotify since before we joined GoCoogs.com, below is the link to this week’s episode. Thanks again for listening!
