Nice. thanks for the updates!
Big time commit.
Hoping others see it and start to jump on board.
Top 300 & a 4* on Scout. 3rd ranked RB in state by multiple services. Great verbal commit from a powerhouse school.
“While he plays in a one-back spread-style offense in high school college coaches may be dreaming about what he would do with a lead blocker,” Powers wrote. “The fact that he can play in multiple offenses only helps his value as a prospect. A north-south runner with good feet if he can If he can get a crease then he will get the ball to the end zone in a hurry. Should be a valued weapon at or around the goal line whether he gets the ball or is an option fake.”
With standout quarterback Shawn Robinson gone along with fellow running backs Jamonne Williams and Richie Washington graduating, Walker is next in line to become the leading rusher for the Eagles in 2017 as they try to defend their state title.
Walker’s choice of Houston over scholarship offers from Colorado, Iowa State, SMU and others makes him the first player in the team’s 2018 recruiting class. While all oral commitments are non-binding, Walker’s pledge is a good start for new Houston coach Major Applewhite, who got the job in part on the approval of Texas high school coaches, including some in the Dallas area.
Great 1st commit for our class.
Hopefully we can land that kid QB Mayden.
It would be nice to get a couple of that caliber committed early and be active recruiters themselves. Could lead to a nice class if that happened.
I need to go see DeSoto this year. Kelan is obviously a standout.

Going to be fun this year as far as recruiting goes.
It’s early so let us be guardedly optimistic. Lots of time to play the media too.
There are eight area players on the magazine’s Super Team, which features the state’s best players from all classifications.
Denton Ryan QB Spencer Sanders, DeSoto RB Kelan Walker, Justin Northwest OL Darrell Simpson, Frisco Wakeland OL Rafiti Ghirmai, Carter DL Jarell Cherry, Bishop Dunne DL Calvin Avery, Lovejoy LB Bumper Pool and Rockwall LB Alston Orji all made the cut.
Chance Amie is second team.

CMAs first commit
He is a big kid. Hopefully the next farrow.
It shows just how important a recruit is when the HC is the one making house visits. Kelan Walker is without a doubt a key RB target.
Kelan’s a stud. DeSoto ended up not having the year many thought they could have, they were #1 in the state in some rankings, and a lot of that was due to Walker’s injury early in the season.
He was a 4* when he committed, but has been downgraded to a mid 3* as time has gone on.
