How was the Iowa St. tailgate? I thought the Iowa St. support was great. What was the experience at TDECU Stadium from an Iowa St. fans perspective?

Iowa State brought more people than Rice. And they were louder too than Rice.
Iowa State didn’t get loud till the 4th Q when they started pouring it on.
Great fans though. Easily my favorite fan base in Big 12 based on interactions in basketball and now football.
My friend and her husband went to ISU. We met up with them at the half and they were very positive about their experience at the game.
We then tried to get some dinner after we met up…Chickfila was out of sandwiches, Trill tenders had a 30 minute wait, the walk through market was out of hot dogs and Hugos only had pork tacos left. We ended up with Miss Pattys wings, which were delicious. There is no excuse to be out of food at the start of the third quarter.
Sounds like poor planning. No excuses
That game made people hungry
My interactions with them in Provo were great, too. Good people
I looked around.
ISU hit the Htown food scene. Kemah, etc
More of an urban road trip.
Looked like ISU crowd and restaurant/ server both did well.
Of note: Tex-Mex, Seafood.
Not much BBQ but its probably great out that way.
I was at Chicken N Pickle in Webster on Friday night, I saw a smattering of ISU clad people there.
I saw a large contingent at Rodeo Goat in Eado before the game and several at the Texans game this afternoon. I forget that when compared to cities like Ames, Manhattan, Stillwater, and Lubbock Houston is a real Metropolis, is cheap to get to, and a lot of fun.
If you look at the cities added to the Big12 in the last 2 rounds of expansion there are some real bangers from a travel prospective, at least compared to the original 8.
Doesnt it make more sense to go on their board and ask them?
We have Iowa St. posters on this board.
Yes
To me, it sounds like “experience” . . . . . If you have had a lot of leftover food following the previous couple of home games, you tend to bring in less food the following game. I would assume vendors don’t like to waste a lot of food in todays economy.
Iowa state beat Texas alot. I like that.
Ask them about Austin Flynn, that is a big throwback
That is the problem with having different companies running each booth, they are looking out for their bottom line first and foremost with no regard for fan experience.
Sounds like poor planning. ISU has way more interested fans than Rice.
