The Tech game was the pivotal and most important one for the school in some time for reasons we all understand. It’s a lot to come back from.
Yup. Like I said. We beat Rice and ya’ll are back on the train. Until we lose a few more times. This schedule is going to tear apart the fan base from week-to-week.
In reply to the original post, all will be forgiven; but not forgotten. I have been as big a defender of CDH and the QB as anyone on the board, but I have gotten into the mode of put up or shut up. To say, “that was on me and I take responsibility” is one thing but making actual changes to prevent it from happening again to good teams – not great teams, just good teams – is something else.
I truly hope Tune plays better and stops making such bad decisions, forcing things that cause turnovers. I know he is just trying his best to make something when there is nothing there, but throwing the ball away or taking a sack is better than a turnover.
I also hope CDH gets our team in gear and starts to put more oomph in our offense. While we did manage to score 21 points in the 1st half, except for the longer TD pass, it was a grind and not exciting football. I think the team does better when there is more exciting play instead of the 3 yards and going for it on 4th and 1. But, that’s just my opinion.
Will I demand Holgorsen’s dismissal should we do worse than I think we should, no. Dr. Khator, Pez, and Tillman all have eyes and are fully aware of the situation; the situation includes knowing the financial constraints we are operating under. I will fully back whatever decision they make.
As a season ticket holder, lifetime alumni member, and cougar pride contributor, 6-1 will allow me to untense my shoulders.
Our prevailing attitude is to settle. F that. We throw too much money at this program to settle
Y’all need to ensure that UH understands the financial ramifications of retaining Holgi and allowing him to continue to destroy the program. I imagine that will become clear, but playing the good guy isn’t actually what is in the best interest of the university. The ones who act business as usual and just let things play out while while the program sinks into the depths of depravity aren’t doing UH any favors.
As a cougar pride contributor and season ticket holder, the season W-L record will definitely determine my contribution level.
The sub 20K crowd for Grambling ought to be a good start to indicate the financial ramifications. Assuming the Big12 invite comes, I see no way we keep Holgy if he doesn’t go 8-4 or better. There would be zero confidence we wouldn’t be a 2-4 win Kansas type team in the Big12 with Holgy in charge.
Qwanseeker, do you really think that Renu, Pez, and Tillman need any of us to ensure they understand the financial ramifications of retaining Holgi?
CaptainCougar, as a season ticket holder, lifetime alumni member, and cougar pride contributor myself, 6-1 will probably have me pumped. Heck, knowing me, I will probably be pumped by Friday and ecstatic after we beat Rice. I would really like us to pick it up and CDH lead us to a good season worthy of his continuing as our coach. I like the guy and always hope for the best for our Coogs, including the coaching staff.
Yes, leadership needs to be contacted so that they can relay that information to the Board with evidence. This is not rocket science.
Brad, those 3 have all the evidence they need, to make any decision they need to make, delivered to them regularly. I’m sure they can get the job done without hearing what you think you know, or any other poster on this board.
I’m not sure what you are talking about. I’m talking about people letting them know they are cancelling season tickets, donations, etc. You might think you know better than everyone else, but this is what UT alumni did. They now have a new coach and are 1-0 with a win over a top 25 team to start the year.
The real shame is that Dana refused to dip into the transfer portal for an experienced QB. Plenty of good ones available. See what OU transfer Mordacai did for SMU ?
It depends, if we manage to go 6-1 while seeing the same issues we’ve been seeing. Then no. I think the reason so many people are frustrated is that coaching issues haven’t changed. I can have faith athletes are doing everything they can, and they can get us 6-1. We have the talent. As for the coaching, it’s not on par for what we expect.
Yes, but how do you know who he may have tried to get that didn’t want to come here?
After halftime, what did CDH show you that was inductive of a coach who wanted to win?
He didn’t show me anything positive that I can remember; but I am sure he actually did want to win. But wanting to and actually making the moves to do it are two entirely different things.
I just want to beat Rice. If we do that, then we worry about the next opponent. We aren’t in any position to start talking about being 6-1 or whatever.
A Rice win does nothing to take the stink out of last week or the last couple of weeks. We have not beaten ANYONE respectable since Holgorsen has been here, our best win is against Tulane? Get outta here with that crap, we can only beat Rice and FCS schools? If we go undefeated the rest of the season I might feel better, but the schedule this year is a pile of crap, we won’t ever have it easier
@joprior73----only if we VASTLY improve in ALL phases!!
Last couple of years, this stupid phone lol
