Maybe so, but those whom I think very deserving are overlooked all the time – especially non skill position players. For example, are Simon Fletcher and Audray McMillian in the HOF? I don’t think so.
Philip Rivers’ career reminds me of Dan Fouts’ career. Both were passing stat machines and neither won a Super Bowl. Rivers played long than Fouts and beats him in every important stat, e.g., games played, total yards, TDs, lower # of interceptions despite playing more games.
Dan Fouts was elected to the NFL HOF in 1993. Eventually, Rivers will be elected.
