Is Caleb Williams entitled and is it why Case is now a Bear?

He’s an egghead, Case is getting a nice check to baby sit that moron. All the skills in the world, just nothing between the ears.

Case can write a book about QB coaching.
He mentored:
Goff
Haskins
Allen
Stroub
Williams
I am sure I am missing others. Case could step into an nfl OC immediately.

Case is viewed by NFL franchises as the QB whisperer.

Didn’t John Elway and Eli Manning also avoid being drafted by teams they didn’t want to go to? I can understand Williams not wanting to go to the bears.

I get it, but it can also be a sign of mental weakness and a losing mentality. The great ones accept the challenge, no matter how great, no matter if it works out or not.

This can come from the same place as a willingness to blame teammates, etc. when things go wrong. And things always go wrong.

I look at it both ways. Chicago is a poorly run franchise and should be of concern to a top pick being drafted by them. OTOH, you could be THE guy to change it all if you have the mental makeup for something like that.

Jim Kelly.

Elway nor Manning were mentally weak.

Super Bowl champs!

Since both Elway and Eli Manning were Super Bowl winners held in high esteem by their teams, I guess they didn’t have that problem.

John Elway is who I was talking about.

That is why I said it CAN be a sign of weakness, not that it IS a sign. For every Elway and Manning, there are dozens of Jeff Georges, etc.

Agreed.

Elway and Manning were completely different circumstances. Elway had the New York Yankees as leverage. Manning had the Manning name. He did not have baseball or another football league as leverage. He simply would not play in San Diego. Manning got the better end of that deal. Shortly after Manning was selected #1 by the Chargers, He was traded to the New York Giants. San Diego then selected Ryan Leaf at #2, and Leaf flamed out. San Diego then had a QB battle between Philip Rivers and Drew Brees, which Rivers won, when Brees was traded to New Orleans.

Let’s tally up the championships:

Manning - 2
Brees - 1
Rivers - 0
Leaf - 0

I don’t know what all of the superfluous info about Rivers, Brees, and Leaf have to do with Manning and Elway not wanting to go to the Chargers or Colts respectively. The fact remains that they balked at going to those two teams and turned out to be great QBs.

I wonder how Matthew Stafford’s career would have gone if he had refused to go to the Lions and got drafted by another team.

lol… superfluousness for superfluousness’s sake

Not quite. You got the wrong Manning. Eli is the one that went to the Giants. Ryan “basket case” Leaf was years before. THE San Diego Chargers drafted Manning even though for months the entire family told the p.o.s. spanos to eff off. Then a a last minute clash happened and the trade happened. It sent Manning to the Giants and Rivers was drafted.
p.o.s. spanos sent Brees packing due to his injured elbow. Drew’s career in New Orleans shows how inept the Chargers were. The team doctor was also involved in a prescription scandal not long after.
Rivers will be in the HOF. If the p.o.s. spanos had mamanged his team like the 49ers or Steelers the franchise would have had multiple rings. p.o.s. spanos refused to pay or manage his players balance sheet. Junior Seau is one of these example. He ended playing in a Super Bowl along with Rodney Harrison another star for us San Diego Chargers season ticket holders.
I saw Rivers getting sacked seven times and he still got back up. Great QB always under rated.

I’ll fess up. Leaf was drafted after Peyton Manning. I’m putting myself in time out.

As a Bears fan, the organization is aa dumpster fire that starts with ownership incompetence. But because of the family legacy and the fact the Bears are a guaranteed cash cow, the McCaskeys will never sell.
