Is Coach Naghavi the problem?

The other point on the OL. At Tulane, they developed those offensive line. Which requires two key components. 1.) Recognizing talent that can be developed. 2.) Time to develop.

I believe UH should make the following 3 play calling adjustments:

  1. Throw to the running backs more. Against TT there were several times the running backs were open but the QB did not throw to the RB.
  2. Have QB run more.
  3. Throw deep. We have at least 3 fast WR’s - A Thomas, S Johnson, and K Young.
All 3 were open deep against TT. QB do not have the time? Tell the QB if any of WR’s are in a man-man coverage…after getting the snap quickly throw the ball high and deep and let the
    the WR run under it.

Fritz has proven we can still compete at the highest level when he was at Tulane despite bigger financial schools. It will need time to develop. Fritz needs to scout the Keenums, Ward Jr, and Oliver’s of the college world and build his team. We’re still good.

As far as TT, I think they have one of their best teams ever assembled. They had money. With their luck though, they will choke.

My uniformed, unbiased, and unvarnished analysis on the UH OL. UH has a talent problem. They can look okay against lesser opponents, but get totally exposed against quality opponents.

I look at the Texas Tech matchup as a measuring stick for UH. UH is not close to having a complete team to challenge for the B12 title. Attention needs to focus on the OL and upgrading the talent.

Uhhh I dont think thats how this works.

OL & DL are hardest positions to recruit according to alot of coaches. Theres not a lot of good ones and the ones that are good are going for top dollar

Even UT’s expensive o-line got Molly whopped by Florida on Saturday

You gotta get em. Coach em up. And then keep em.

And we just opened up that fancy new ops building to help with that too. When can we start seeing results from that?

That’s pretty wild.

JL, I think that since everyone on the fan boards and in the media have recognized that, I think our coaching staff may have picked up on it and are doing their best to rectify it. When CWF took the job, he said his MO was to recruit HS and develop them and fill in with NIL as best he can. I’m all in with that.

This is where I defer. Read between the lines.
The only chance for us to win this game a few things had to happen.
Consistent throughout the game with executing basics and fundamentals. We did not and far from it. We did not and therefore we had no chance to win this game.
Not start the way we did.
Referees making stupid early calls.
Let me add some history to this.
We were told that we had no chance to win against Louisville, FSU and Okie.
Why did we win these games?
Did we want it more?
Did we execute better?
The same can be said about against uta. Nobody gave us a chance to win. The video referee had to intervene to sway the momentum back to uta.
ASU was given no chance to win against uta. The referees had to intervene and screw ASU.
Point is everyone has a chance to win a game in front of them. We did everything to lose this game. Therefore we lost. We did stop teetech abd they got field goals. When it was time to execute we failed to execute. Credit to them but the amount of miss tackles, bad routes, terrible pass blocking was surely going to give us a loss.

Said before that we needed a clean game. We couldn’t commit turnovers and had to minimize penalties. Had that happened, the defense kept us in it and we would have had more time on offense. Not saying we would have won but there would have been a statistical chance

How many games will a team win failing to execute basic plays…because we did.
Tackling is paramount. You can’t tackle? You have no chance to win. This is no coincidence that HCWF was hammering that basic fact.

Losing 40% of your Oline to season ending injuries in the first few games means a tough road ahead. They will grow and not every team is Tech.

We had a much better team then. Our DL, anchored by Oliver, was much better across the board. Our OL was also better. Our QB was a better and faster runner and would not be caught from behind. Our WRs and DBs were better.

The players, not the coach, were the reason we won. Let’s face it, LTH has not done well anywhere else since he left UH. How many players from that team played in the NFL? That should answer your question.

Talcking had alot to due with the uptick in talent we have not faced this year. Have to adjust to a quick hit offence or we will be bottom ten again in points. Just win. Go Coogs !!
