Is Elon Musk losing his mind?

As much as I hate to dunk on BritFan97, this article does just that. And it dunks on both sides who claim to defend democracy and the constitution. It’s a pretty good read.

The founders where staunchly for the most part anti democracy and feared executive power and with good reason. They didnt think mob rule was wise then and is sure isnt now.

You would have to be absolutely insane to change anything that activly blocks a fascist state from forming.

they fought off a unelected despot king from abroad and thats reflected in the constitution.

The founders got it right where it matters. The government isnt your friend.

The electoral college prevented slavery and Jim Crow? Asking for my ancestors.

You talking about voter id?

Slavery got nothing to do with the governmental checks and balances. You knkw the topic at hand.

You said that the EC prevents a fascist state. Was the system of slavery practiced in America not fascist? Was Redemption and Jim Crow not fascism? If anything the Electoral College strongly perpetuated both of those sooo it’s own track record of not preventing fascism directly undermines your claim.

You talking about DJT and the J-6 posse?

Uhh slavery was a widely acceptable practice worldwide before and after USA creation.

The EC, along with the 1st/2nd and others, helps against mob rule and from fascist despots from forming and ruling permanently.

Deferring to worldwide practices for a fascist system that wasn’t prevented but perpetuated by the EC is a poor defense and a dodge.

Jim Crow wasn’t defeated by the EC. It was defeated in spite of it. So again, the notion that the EC is implemented to prevent fascism is utterly ridiculous and unfounded in facts and reality. I’ll take your dodging as indicative that my point was made.

Its 2024, Trump out office and they have been arrested and jailed.

What was your point again?

No have no point, racism and slavery was a accepted practice everywhere.

We are not ruled by 1 person, 1 party or “royal” family. In no way has the USA ever been a fascist state.

Tell that to my grandparents growing up under the boot of Jim Crow in Texas in the early 20th century. Or my great great grandparents born into slavery in Louisiana in the 19th century. I’m sure they all felt so free living in totally non-fascist USA. You may be able to lie to and delude yourself but you’re not going to lie and delude people who clearly know our history and understand the lived experiences of our own family amongst innumerable others.

Nah it’s just that when people talk about mob rule and insane people trying to change something (peaceful transfer of power) that actively blocks a fascist state from forming, that’s just what comes to mind.

I’m guessing you’re all good with DJTs role in that and the lies he maintains to get back in office… Let’s just focus on social media influencers, not violent mob influencers, cool?

I’m not sure what your problem is, I mean sure disagree with them but you act like wanting to change something about our country’s laws makes someone a horrible person.

It was intentional hyperbole on my part. HB 3979 did give people cause to believe they needed to teach both sides of the Holocaust, that is a fact. It wasn’t written in there but my point was that HB 3979 was a bill about controlling information and you wanted to know when Republicans want to control information. So I did.

In reality, the things you hate about the Democrats are things that are done or have been done in the past by Republicans. The Republicans just do those things in a way that you agree with.

What country do you live in? Democrats haven’t had control for 50 consecutive years. Seems like your brain isn’t braining (as you said about others).

Really? When was the last time you talked to the founders? I’d love to know what they think of modern society.

Is this how you normally talk or are you using some really bad translation ap or bad text to speech?

More misdirection as you like to call it.

Sounds like our old friend snowskier.

Weird that they created a democracy then. And, yes, we are a democracy.

How do you feel about the recent Supreme Court decision granting immunity and, therefore, expanding executive powers?

We wouldn’t have mob rule if the electoral college was gone. I’m not onboard with going away from it but it wouldn’t be mob rule.

Mob rule would be doing away with representatives and the public voting on every issue.
