They are a non-profit organization they did not have the money to go up against Elon and Peter Theil money.
I’m wondering that myself. Its not like they shut down and immediately the advertisers return to X. In fact this article notes that the lawsuit is only driving some media buyers further away from X.
Still interesting case to follow but certainly this development could be a win for X, although it might be a hollow victory.

Yeah, makes sense as an advertiser. Why in the heck would anyone want to advertise on a platform that will sue you if you decide to stop advertising with them ? X ad revenue will probably
take even a bigger hit. Another brilliant Musk move.

It isn’t that one company didn’t advertise. Collusion of companies to ruin the business is the issue.
RICO isn’t out of the question especially with the closing of GARM.

Perhaps anti-trust is more appropriate although extortion isn’t far off
If I was trying to make a case for it, yeah, I’d guess I’d try to twist it into an extortion case.
But I’d have to be drunk or high to do it.
Now let me ask you about the MPA - Motion Picture Academy that assigns content
ratings to our films. Could the Bang Bros Film Studio, or other studios, sue the MPA for always getting the NC-17 ratings for its artistic films ?

Yes, thats the law the X suit alleging was violated.
There is ample evidence out there about what is now on X. Seems like Elon is desperate.
But with his wealth he can continue the frivolous lawsuits.

I mean that’s kind of the whole thing, if this suit is allowed to stand the precedent is set that any organized boycott could be subject to litigation. It’s a whole new avenue for SLAAP suits. I mean good for rich chuckleheads not so great for anyone else.
