There was a discussion in r/CFB about the top dual threats QBs for 2018, and not a single mention of Deriq King.
Do you guys feel confident with Deriq King, or are you still shaky about the QB situation?
Small sample size is probably why.
I am very excited about having him under center for the whole season.

yes…he hasnt played a full season at qb. wait till this upcoming season to judge if he should be rated or not.
I don’t mind a bit if our opponents underestimate him.

Pre-season rankings do not mean a thing. It is purely there to fill the airwaves or media pages.

He didn’t get a full year at QB and was really learning on the fly. There aren’t a lot of stats you can point to that ‘pop out’ at someone who hasn’t seen him…being G5 a QB is going to need something to ‘pop out’ on a forum like r/CFB…that is P5 heavy with posters.
I’m not concerned about their opinions…There wasn’t any national buzz for Ward heading into 2015 either.
Also, you’ve gotta chime in for UH on these things man!
I’m completely confident in King. He came in and actually made something of the offense that Applewhite/Johnson tried to throw out there and actually brought a little excitement back. As good as Ward was, the one big complaint was arm strength…there is no complaint about arm strength with King.
In the Briles offense, King is going to be a monster…sort of like a smaller RG3. I’m including these highlights, because I can picture King doing what RG3 did.
