Is Oregon State our new Connecticut?

So much attention on the home game. I hope the boys are ready for a late start on the West Coast in their first roadie.
Remember, we scored with 40 seconds against Rice to take. Halftime lead.

No team is above looking past a winless team.

Ya never know. A winless team is dangerous at home.

Is that the one where Ward was out with an injury and Postma got hurt during the game and Farrow got hurt and Roberts got ejected for a BS targeting early and they still needed a trick play to win and that made them bowl eligible?

I’m not sure we’re in that ballpark, for several reasons…

Yup. I agree with OP. Whatever happened to lets beat Osu first before we move to our next opponent.

How’s about for once we just rely on CWF to take care of it, which he WILL do. We play game to game, like all good programs do. CWF is an experienced, winning coach.

Oh, come on. We’re gonna beat OSU. They’re 0-4. They’re the worst FBS team we’ve faced so far this year, and not that far ahead of SFA for worst team on our schedule. This should be a comfortable win.

Pretending we haven’t seen worse scenarios play out negatively for us is weird.

The phrasing of this question bothers me. It needs to be “Could Oregon State be…” Not “Is” that implies we already lost. Yes I know I’m being an English Nazi but I also don’t care, it’s worded terribly and should be called out.

And also I trust Fritz to not be interviewing Eddie we are trying to prepare creating distract and losing the teams focus. Yes if we come out and play exceptionally poorly we could lose. But the OSU’s are both really bad teams that even not our absolute best should result in victories.

…winless AND at home!!

GO COOGS!! \n//

…have we? Because the closest thing I can remember is Texas State, and that was more that we were just nowhere as good as our preseason expectations would indicate. I can’t recall a time when we actually looked good in a season and wound up losing to an FBS bottom-feeder. (UConn was bowl-eligible.) And we’ve never lost to an FCS team.

“Is” is because everyone thought we would roll into an inferior opponent’s stadium and roll them. That seems to be the attitude here

Currently, there are more posts here assuming we already won this one and are playing TT.

That Texas State team with Franchione was far better coached and prepared than we were. And had a better team to boot. That was a bad Houston team. The only thing they did right the entire year was beat Rice.

2006 5-1 at the time, lost to a 2-2 ULL team that had been railed by LSU and TAMU by a combined score of 96-10. 31-28

2009 3-0 at the time, lost to a UTEP team that had lost to Buffalo, Kansas and Texas, never scoring more than 17 points. 58-41

2014 Lost the opener to UTSA - UTSA lost their next four on the way to a 4-8 season (we ended up 8-5)

2015 11-0 at the time lost to a 5-6 U Conn team 20-17

The UTEP loss comes to mind, as it followed wins at #5 Oklahoma State and against Texas Tech. UTEP won 4 games that year. That was a legitimately terrible loss.

Our program is nowhere near the point that we can just assume we’re going to win games simply because we are a big favorite, especially on the road. We may get there soon, but not yet. This game reeks of a “trap game” with Tech looming on the horizon.

The thing that reassures me most is that Fritz teams are well prepared and level headed, and that should serve us well on Friday night. I’m sure Willie has reminded the players that you have to bring your best every game or you can be beaten by almost anyone.

The fact they winless is immaterial. This is the typical trap game that’s perfect for Houston. It’s Taylor made. Inescapable.

Road game, coming off a big win and a bye week, looking ahead to Tech.

kfd91 did it from memory too, watch them type it out.
