Is UCF digging themselves into a hole?

I would rather have a series with the Aggie’s than the longhorns.

Policy should be 2-1 for out of state top P5 programs, 1-1 with Texas P5 programs.

It’s funny so many cougars voicing a distaste of pmaying UT. Realistically speaking the best hope we have for P5 membership is the Big 12. If that happens we may be playing them every year. Worse yet we’d be in a conference that’s run by UT and OU. The other programs just do what they are told.

The distain comes from UT constantly f’ing us over for years. They have f’ed us over in so many ways I have lost count. I’m not sure how old you are, this is not a personal attack, but if you are young then you likely don’t know our history with UT and why you don’t know about our disdain.

But I will give you a recent example. Not sure you realize that them “supporting us” for the big 12 two years ago was nothing more than a clever ploy to get Tom Herman from us. It’s simply went down as we support U of H in the big 12 but we can’t speak for anyone else. Despite the fact that they have all the power in the big 12.

Then they turn to Tom and tell him if you want to coach a team in the big 12 then you’re gonna have to come to Texas. Surprise surprise, the time the news comes out that we’re not getting into the big 12, sources confirmed that Herman started talking to Texas, and our season gets ruined with a loss to Navy followed by a lost to SMU.

This is just a recent example but we could go back 40 years to find other examples.

Never ever submit to a 2:1. To anybody. NEVER. EVER. It’s an embarrassing act of subservience and shows a lack of self-respect.

I feel so strongly about this, I will consider dropping my tickets if we ever do this again.

Why 2 for 1 with ANYONE !

I would consider a 2 for 1 with Alabama (for instance…a true Blue Blood)…however, it would have to be 1 at their place, 1 at our place (not NRG) and then the last one at their place for say $8 Mil…

Big difference in hoops and football, G5 and P5…We don’t have to depend of SOS to reach a final in basketball…but that is not the way it is in football. We went to UT in 1968 without a return visit and that infamous ties helped give us a push into the SWC’s front door…

The home team wins 60% of the time in college. Taking 2 for 1s is not a good short or long term strategy to grow your program.

That game is one of the reason’s why I was so pissed when UH accepted an invite to the SWC !!

The SWC with ut calling ALL the shots and controlling ALL the $$$ was doomed in big time conferences because of that very reason.

Maybe I was just before my time.

It’s only “subservient” if we lose. Schedule all the big boys and prove we are worthy.

That would work for me. NRG would really be a neutral site, unless it was part of aTm’s season ticket package.

That stat is skewed by teams playing a lot of patsies for non-conference games. You know like us playing TSU, PVAM, etc.

I’m not a fan of all the antics. There is a difference between confidence and cockiness. They’ve crossed the line a couple times. They’re a good team, and they deserve respect but the national champs stuff and all that is too much.

Can’t remember where I got it from but the 60% is for conference games…so patsies aren’t included. Add those in and it’s 67%.

NFL is like 57% for regular season and 65% for the playoffs…though I think the Texans are trying to work that stat down as I type.
