"It didn't make sense"

I didn’t see another topic on this.

Before the Baylor game CDH said that the K-State game “didn’t make sense” to his players, but the Baylor game “makes sense” to them!!!

Never in my now getting older life have I heard of such non**“SENSE”**! Every game should “make sense” to the players and the coaches. In today’s environment where the players are getting paid to play along with FREE education, room, and meals, there is no excuse for such attitudes and it MUST fall back on the coaches.

The team, players & coaches, should prepare and play EVERY game as if it “makes sense”! See our men’s BB team.

Perhaps CDH can coach but he is a LOUSY motivator, ambassador, and recruiter for our team. He needs to go.

Many say that the players like him, but what would we expect them to say … and besides, the players would like having Beyonce as their coach.

He said the same thing about the Rice game.

He prepared the team but they didn’t “receive” the message.

That’s literally his job…TO COACH HIS PLAYERS.

If he isn’t getting through to HIS players…isn’t that on the coach?

I could see this make sense if we’d been in the big 12 twenty years and we were playing a school like KState, Iowa State, etc where our players don’t know any guys on the other side. I know he made a statement about our players, and Baylor’s, knowing each other. First year in a big conference though. Where you want to prove you belong. Every game should have some feeling behind it.

I understand your comment but I am going to cut CDH some slack on this. With Baylor in Waco, many players on both sides are familiar with each other and want bragging rights. UH has no history with Kansas St. and has no rivalry with them. Part of pregame preparation is mental. I’m going to assign blame, if you can call it that, on the coaches and on the players.

During the postgame, it was stated that it was essentially [culture shock] and that it would take a few years getting used to the environment… in other words, Texans hate the cold? The smell of manure?

Some amazing responses here.

When I played ball it was either you were INTO the game or you were OUT of the game.

But now, it’s okay not to give your best if playing the game somehow doesn’t “make sense” to you.

Why did the team even show up? We should’ve just forfeited and saved UH a lot of money …

So its gonna take a few years to get used to OOC games. I mean if we have to be familiar with someone to get ready. That seems to be what he’s saying. Dana is a gymnast if nothing else. He can wrap his words around stuff like a slinky.

Coach needs to work on his intermonologue and refrain from saying stupid stuff outloud.

If the opponent has to make sense to a UH footballer before deciding to give it 100%, then perhaps we’re recruiting the wrong type of player.

In addition to physical metrics, we may need to have psychological testing to determine the winning minded players from losing minded players.

I hope none of this is true because I find it highly troubling.

Maybe the staff could get them excited. That’s a renegade opinion and I apologize for it.

This is why Dana is not head coach material. Best for him to be OC.
