Jalen Hurts

We’ll be seeing him in the first game of the season next year…To My Alabama Family by Jalen Hurts | The Players’ Tribune

Now I’m kinda wishing we would have picked him up so we wouldn’t have to play him.

This may be even better than the last UH OU game.
Anything can happen especially the first Saturday of the season.

Goooo Coogs!

He made a good choice. It was probably going to be OU or Maryland.

OU got Hurts. Now D. King can put the hurt on them.

No we don’t NEED him. Unless he decides to play linebacker or defensive back.

It’s a gift … I’m excited to play Hurts. It’s the1st game for him at OK so gonna get lots of national exposure before, during and after the game. Good or bad we will be in the spotlight. Lots of upside

Do you think it was proven because no G5 will ever go undefeated against a better schedule and have more name recognition and built in credibility or do you think that it proved that literally no matter what a G5 does it will not get invited?

I think the former is a reasonable position. I could see a G5 going undefeated against a schedule that might be better than UCF’s this year, but the odds of it happening in a year where they are coming off a NY6 bowl win and have a ton of built in credibility to get the benefit of the doubt is probably pretty unlikely

The latter wasn’t proven at all though. UCF’s OOC was pretty unimpressive and the AAC was down last year relative to what we saw in a year like 2015. There were also plenty of P5s (plus ND) with good resumes. Had we gone undefeated in 2016 and missed it I think it would have been safer to say that, especially if there had been a two loss P5 that got in over us.

My opinion was the latter, but your disagreement is fair. I’m just at the point now where I won’t believe it will ever happen until I actually see it. I still think they would have kept us out in 2016 even if we had run the table. The playoff was never intended to give a G5 team a shot. Even with decisive victories over OU and UL that year, they still would have pointed to our conference slate as a reason to exclude us.

I will say the ONLY way I can see it happening for a G5 team is an undefeated season with a schedule like we had in 2016 PLUS at least one other playoff team having 2 losses. An undefeated G5 team will never get in over a 1 loss P5 team.

A broken clock is right twice a day

Hard for me to believe that if he goes to OU, that he fits into their offensive scheme. He is a good runner, but only an average passer at best. And OU’s offensive line is not the caliber of Alabama’s.

Time will tell.

You’re a Texas grad. Enough said :sleeping::sleeping::expressionless:

Wow, all those betters lost a lot on money betting he would come to Houston.

All I care about with this news…Coogs better get real good real fast on defense and OK Corral better beat the Shorts of Austin this year.
