2021-2022: He proved his overall value to the Houston Cougars leading them to the Elite Eight.
2022-2023: Small sample size for this season, but I think he is the best PG in men’s college basketball. I love his quickness, penetration, vision, decision-making, leadership, and intensity of defense. He is a complete player. I can’t remember how many other programs wanted him, but I am sure glad CKS, Kellen, and the staff found him. He makes the Coogs go! If he starts hitting his outside open looks, watch out. Love Sasser, but I think Shead is the gas pedal for our race car speeding toward the national championship.
Not knocking Sasser. One more thing, Arceneaux is the next superstar at UH. He plays fearless. He takes and makes big shots. Give that kid more minutes.
Disagree. I think he is the transmission. He determines what gear we are driving in. The fuel is the culture CKS has developed here. We won’t be running out of that as it is a renewable resource.
Edit: After posting I realized I misread your line. I read gas, you said gas pedal. So we are really thinking the same thing.
Tremendous respect for Shead … especially after last year … he brings an intangible maturity to the offense and defense …
All the Arceneaux comments are correct … with the only addition being … Walker is just as effective. The pair of them running in tandem means a couple more good years …
Speaking of that…is this the best team in that regard since PSJ? We’ve got a big Center who can dominate, forwards that can dominate, guards that can dominate and a dominant bench. It’s going to take something special to give UH a match up problem.
Jamal has been my favorite Coog ever since I saw that video of him picking up the trash after the game at Bama last year. Frankly, all our guys seem like good kids, but I have a feeling Jamal is the kind you’d love to have as a son-in-law.
