Hodgins, a true freshman who enrolled early and participated in spring practices, said he likes working for Phillips.
“He’s just brought a lot of experience and a lot of great coaching,” Hodgins said. “He coaches you up every day on stuff he’s been through in the league and stuff that he wants us to do. So just getting tips from a guy with that much experience as him is great.”
It still baffles me that we can’t find a spot for him. I understand Major has his own “team” but Jason is UofH. Would Major feel “threatened” by Jason? That would be stupid.
I’m not sure that he wants to come back right now. He wasn’t happy that Levine was picked over him after Sumlin left.
Just because Jason was a really good player here does not mean he would be a good fit coaching here. I think what Jason brings to the table is the ability to recruit…from what I have heard it was a mutual thing when he left for SMU…good luck to Jason at OSU…
This is great for JP, I always thought it was really important for him to get more experience. One red flag I always had was that he was never mentioned for moving up ladders elsewhere or made cuts for final hires. Just seemed like he needed to spread his wings and build his resume. At least before coming home as a head coach
Looks like Phillips may be changing jobs this offseason.
