This is unexpected, I think Wright is the best coach in college basketball.

I hope his health is ok.

He has seemed nothing short of an incredible coach and a class act… hope so too.

Can’t disagree after what they did to our Cougars!!!

They did nothing. We lost because we shot 5% from 3

He appeared skinnier than in years past. Seems sudden.

Also hope nothing is wrong. Class act

in this epsidoe of pesik give his opinion that no one asked for:

this just made me realize anyone can retire at any time … this could easily be Sampson next year.

stack the roster, let’s try to win it all next year. worry about transferring out later

Give me Cam Whitmore. And give me him now.

Great coach, great guy. My second favorite coach in recent years behind our very own. Really like the guy at Virginia

I doubt it unless he just can’t coach with the NIL, transfer portal & Big 12 to boot!!! He’s a pretty ace recruiter as well.

The culture and program are already established!

Sad to see Jay hang em up. Unquestionably one of the best in the game. Was kind of looking forward to maybe facing off with Nova again next season. Sampson continues to move up the ranks of active coaches.

My money says he takes a one /two year break to re-charge and then takes his pick of what the best opening is at that point….too young to never coach again….
