Said in July NIL goes away & revenue sharing begins. He said max is $20.5 million.
NIL was not good as there weren’t any committments. Rev sharing will result in some multiyear contracts.
“Imagine right after the Super Bowl every NFL player was a free agent. That’s what the portal is.”
He said they 3-4 deep on the Dline. The starting Dline of last year is 2nd team. He said the 2 transfer DEs are forecasted as 1st rounders. Like us, they loaded up the Oline. They may be the biggest oline in the country.
He asked the Tech fans to fill the stadium like they did Fertitta.
A bunch of that were UH fans who couldn’t be bothered to participate in the Houston Blue promotion. I don’t think they filled our stadium (meaning outnumbering UH fans). I think they were very vocal because they were playing us close and later barely won in overtime and it was a big deal for them and our stadium is very small, so it’s easy to be loud in there.

The key is they won. Really hard to compare crowds when both teams use the same primary colors. It was the second most valuable ticket second only to Kansas. They are another in state school there is a reason we liked playing them in football even when we were in the AAC.
We played them in football because they played us. The other big 12 schools wouldn’t. And I saw plenty UH fans wearing red. A very large portion. And again, them being lucky that Uzan missed a free throw and it went to overtime for them to barely win a one point game in what was the national championship for their fans, caused what contingent that was in that small pressure cooker of a building to bounce off that low ceiling and be loud. It doesn’t mean they outnumbered UH fans.
