Just saying 😀

Chaney played 10 more minutes than Francis and had no rebounds or points

Quite honestly, I’m not really seeing any advantage to having Chaney off the bench before Javier. I thought Reggie would be better against Dante because he’s stronger, but he sure didn’t play like it. He let Dante back him down with almost no resistance.

What i see is that hes far more effective in the pick and roll and much quicker in switching and helping D.

A lot of first for Javier this season. I look forward to his development

I predict we see all three freshmen getting plenty of min at some point this season

I hope so. Lets face it. Chaney can’t score. That was my biggest thing about hoping for a big man down low. Juwan is a work in progress on the scoring side but he doesn’t have any signature moves or go-to moves to get him going.

50 minutes between those two = 2 points and 5 RBs.

Conversely we held Oregon to 56 points on a night when it looked like their interior guy was unstoppable.
And, honestly, that defense you can attribute to our guards who rotated like a menace. I like having the best backcourt in the country but I don’t want to put 32 straight games on their shoulders. Gotta get at least some production in the paint.

Good point, but Walker is that guy IMO. Oregon and other teams with multiple 6’11” guys do pose problems underneath for us. I really do think we’ve got way too many weapons with guards and wings for all of them to have a crappy night. I do hope Juwan can get us 8-10 when we need it.

It was a tough match up inside. Juwan has flashed that he can score on the block and, to a lesser degree, so has Javier. I’m not worried about our interior scoring just yet.
