I have been so impressed with the play of J’Wan, especially in the last three games. His game is so improved from previous seasons and even the start of this season. I had not heard much about his NBA potential but is he making a case and improving his stock for the NBA?
No, he is not.
He is going to be a millionaire playing overseas.
What is the knock on him in the NBA? Is his style of play better suited or more “euro”?
Good question.
Lack of a jumper. Can’t be a 6’7" PF that is unable to hit corner threes
The NBA is such a perimeter oriented game now, or based on projection in the case of younger guys. Roberts as an older player with no perimeter game, just doesn’t project in today’s NBA.
he is 6’7 235 and doesn’t shoot…
Shame on me. I had forgotten he is only 6’7", he plays bigger than that, and it makes sense as a PF he has to be able to consistently hit jumpers. If he does not make it in the NBA, it will be fun keeping track of him overseas.
Do to his age, is he not a candidate for the G League?
One of my favorite coogs. I really like the point forward (lite) ability he has shown the past few games, but his jump shot just isn’t there. If he had some semblance of a jumper, then I could see him being an 8th or 9th guy on an NBA roster.
I think Sharp is looking more like an NBA rotation player as long as he stays healthy with his improve game overall.
He could definitely get g league minutes, but would prbly make more money overseas.
He is listed as 6-8 on the roster cards they hand out at the games.
What is the best overseas league now a days with regard to competition and pay?
There is a home for J’Wan’s jump hook and spin move. It just may not be in the NBA. Playing for Sampson increases J’Wan’s pedigree.
Chuck Wagon 2.0…
Maybe if this was the 80s or 90s n he try be Charles Oakley clone etc. But not in today’s NBA game.
That’s why i stay out of all this ready for NBA baloney bc for us Older folks on here it was different level, skill set b4 you were going to NBA in 70s, 80s, 90’s…
International game will give him longer Pro career n better for him at this point. Justin Gorham is doing well
If Fabs couldn’t stick in the NBA then I don’t think J’Wan will…
But, as has already been stated, he will make millions playing ball; if he hasn’t already…
I thought the average European league bball salaries were in the range of 100k-200k. depending on country, club and player value.
I know the EuroLeague pays some players in the millions, but that is a few select players on elite teams.
It will be interesting to see J’Wan’s contract in Europe. I hope he “makes millions.” But with his current skill set it might take multiple years.
Justin Gorham’s net worth is $6 million from what I found online… I bet J’Wan is already worth at least half a million from NIL…
