Kansas City Chiefs moving...five miles away but wait there is more

Yes, the Kansas tax payers will be partially paying for their new dome. The Hunt family is worth about $25 Billions…

So, business as usual for billionaires.

they actually got pretty good use out of the old stadium, 1972-2030; astrodome was scrapped earlier for not enough money coming in for it.thats 2030, i would bet houston has its taxpayers approve and on the hook for its 3rd stadium by then. if not, sugarland and the woodlands would be at the ready.

You guys know the Chiefs used to be the Texans. They moved to KC from Dallas

If @uhlaw97 didn’t know that I’m taking his fan badge

It’s ridiculous. State/public funded stadiums should be banned, period. If you take public money for a stadium, then you should pay a higher tax rate and your ability to claim losses should limited.

$3B domed stadium, 70% funded by sales tax and revenue bonds, 30% by the Hunt family.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Will their practice facility seat 12.5K fans and host two bowl games and local HS games like The Star in Frisco?

I bet LAW will take all of tjr Astros baseball fan badges if they don’t watch every pitch of the Yankees Red Sox games each year.

How dare they not watch every pitch??

Another gloomy domed stadium. This is what happens when sports start marketing to chicks.

Yes, I bet most on here would know that. When the Dallas Texans lost a million bucks their first year, a lady reporter stuck a mic in Lamar Hunts face and asked rather condescendingly, “How long do you think you can sustain such losses?” Hunt glibly replied, “Oh, about a thousand years, I guess.”

I never watch the Yankees or Red Sox unless they are playing the Astros. I don’t care about them and watching them play each other has no appeal to me.

Edit: Did you mean when they play the Astros? “…watch every pitch of the Yankees Red Sox games each year.” to me means when they play each other.

Some top notch welfare for the freeloading Hunt family. Kansas let themselves take that one unlubed and no reach around. But sure all the ancillary benefits will pay for themselves, for the first time ever.

The Texans and The Cowboys shared The Cotton Bowl in early 1960’s.

Lamar Hunt decided to move. Clint Murchison and The Cowboys stayed.

In 1964 Murchison called a press conference. The Cowboys were in their 5th straight losing season. The press expected to hear that Tom Landry was being fired.

Murchison, instead, calmly announced that he had torn up Tom Landry’s contract and given him a brand new 10 year contract.

End of press conference. 2 years later Cowboys played Lombardi’s Green Bay Packers for The NFC Championship.

that’s a dumb take… has nothing to to do with “marketing to chicks” and everything about maximizing facility usage and host more events to get more money. Blaming women for something being done out of greed is certainly a choice.

What’s a dumb take is believing I was serious
