Has us at 25. The highest rated AAC team.
Number 25 out of 353 teams? That’s an A+ rating in my book.
I think this team has potential to be a final four team. They have to improve but tge potential is there. Like announcer said on Sunday, its hard to prepare for a team like Houston because they are 10 deep.
i don’t know about final four, the ability against solid defenses is suspect…let’s see how we handle memphis and wichita st first.
they are a tourney team…but i couldn’t put them in the sweet 16 yet…still a bunch of growing to do…and to get to the sweet 16 and beyond they will need to develop better consistent 3 pt shooting.
today a team can set a solid half court defense and cut off the inside …we don’t fare well enough from the perimeter to discourage that …also we are turnover prone, a good trapping defense will slow us down and get steals…not sure we have the right personnel this year, really miss armoni.
Look out for Wichita State
What a difference a nice road win at South Carolina will make. Last week some were saying “sorry, this isn’t a tournament team” to now people saying “final four!” Ah, the roller-coaster ride of Coogfans – sometimes those extremes are within one game thread.
As we move up in the quality of our competition the inside game, offensive and defensive, will get much
tougher. I think we will meet those challenges. Our biggest challenge is going to be gaining
consistency with our outside shooting. We might do that and if so we can go deep in the NCAA
tourney. But the defenses are going to get much much tougher.
Sagarin has UH at #28. Beating Ok State (#45) will help the resume.
I think the way CKS put together the OOC schedule is starting to make sense to me. We have some good opportunities before conference starts ex… Ok St. & probably Washington in Hawaii tournament.
But we’ve played 2-3 games less than just about everyone we’ve played. My guess is with such a young team that he wanted more practice than games the first month
Won’t they make that up in Hawaii over Christmas?
Yes, we’ll end-up playing the same amount of regular season games.
