I said UT/AM against other SEC opponents, not UT against AM.
Yeah I just re-read that my bad
I am going to say this with a lot of recent experience under my belt.
Hardly anyone in Houston has been playing 18 holes this week. The heat index at course level is blast furnace quality.
I played nine holes at Northgate on Sunday and suffered from heat fever until about 4am. (And I am not joking)
That had UT and OU regularly on their schedule. Letās see how the nuBig12 does in ticket sales and TV viewership.
I know Kansas St. vs Baylor isnāt must watch TV for me.
Combined w Amazon buying MGM, that is a lot of content locked down for the forseeable future.
Amazon can take it to another level. Because most have Amazon Video via their Amazon shopping accounts. They can target advertisers to unheard of āwarm marketsā by TV standards.
For example:
A model train company would never waste resources (if they even had the $ to advertise on that scale) on NFL or NCAA commercials. Itās just such a miniscule % of viewers who are into model trains.
Via Amazon, they can advertise to anyone who has bought/wishlisted/browsed model train related products targeted to the smallest niche. Pay per lead model.
All Amazon needs is fresh content. LOTS of it and I would not be surprised to see them beat out a network for weekend games.
Sure ⦠Pez has time to spend a whole day golfing right now. He needs to be by the phone
Ifā¦and big IF he was golfing, I hope it was with influential people he was trying to āsellā UH to.
PAC reps perhaps
The possibilities are endless. This is why amazon is so successful. They have exploited our laziness to the ultimate
Will amazon come to our rescue and kick utauās pimp in the cojones? That would be ultimate justice and the utau Austin politicians wonāt be able to do anything about it.
Has anybody brought up a scenario where the PAC adds 2-4 as football only members for a reduced rate (~10-15 million)? I still donāt see a need for them to do it, but makes more sense to me than taking all sports. If the AAC let us stay for the other sports, which I am sure they would, (or join depleted Big 12 for travel ease) then that would be a nice move.
No doubt Coach. But if given a chance to go to PAC, we would most likely be going with 2 of the 4 schools you mentioned. But I would gladly to be part of the new B12 (assuming everyone staying) if PAC not expanding.
The PAC commissioner seems to be averse to anything that might segregate male and female teams and their exposure.
But I surely donāt speak for him. So who knows?
Learn the B12 lesson.
PAC 12 should expand just in case a small group becomes Big 10 West at some point.
Let these new schools build and get good on the next level so they can absorb the losses
Looking at all the rumblings just today alone, this is plausible. I think things are very fluid right now.
Great point and you can be sure every scenario is on the table at this point.
How can I help you sir/madam? mickey mouse made itself vulnerable now they just opened panderaās box. This is what amazon, appletv, google and others including CBS have been waiting for. We just need to catch the right train.
Lets not kid ourselves.
UH billboards on 45 with the PAC logo would be sweet as Hell.
Transformative even.

If you want money, it aināt coming from the SEC, BIG or ACC. A tiny piece of hope of getting that money is better than no hope.
Kliavkoff ⦠like Khator ⦠stated absolutely ⦠NOTHING DEFINITE ā¦
Hate to quote this from some famous movies ⦠BUT ā¦
Many posters have said that a school like UH doesnāt increase the pie the $30 million or so needed for a conference like the PAC etc. I agree. Initially
What I havenāt read here or anywhere is the possibility of a stair stepped or graduated payment scale. Which if Iām a UH school I definitely take.
Could a revised tv contract be something like a 5 year plan for say UH, OKST, TT, KU (or pick your ānewā four members)? Year 1 start at $8 million to ultimately $30 million (or whatever the final number is)
It gives the new schools time to grow the brand in a better conference to the point it does bring the greater value to the conference.
Or is that just not practical? Iāve never negotiated a conference tv contract before.
You heard it here Fifth --not first
, UH Coogs will be in PAC12 when the dust settles. Pls donāt ask me abt sources.
Do we really see Lubbock Texas aligning itself with the PACās West Coast politics?
Theyād have to burn their Donāt California my Texas banners, t shirts, flags and bumper stickers as they say āwe were just kidding about thatā
UH is a more palatable option for the PAC for so many more reasonsā¦
