The new commissioner said other schools already have reached out about moving.
"George Kliavkoff, the new Pac-12 commissioner, wasn’t all doom and gloom when asked about the proposed moves of Oklahoma and Texas from the Big 12 to the SEC, and the impact it might have on the college football landscape.
To the contrary, he welcomed it.
At Pac-12 football media day Tuesday in Los Angeles, he considered it an opportunity to get bigger and better.
“The fallout from Texas and Oklahoma gives us an opportunity to once again consider expansion,” Kliavkoff said."
Kliavkoff: “We already have half our programs riding the backs of USC and Oregon, but we want to be polite because we know you’d like to be kicking back with a bong without having to close all the curtains while you are feeling all the stress of losing your jobs as opponents for Oklahoma and Texas.”
Texas and OU joining A&M puts Houston at an advantage for the Houston market if we join a P5.
What other Texas program would have a foothold? Tech? TCU? In our own backyard if we’re in a P5? No way.
I’m all for joining the PAC12. Get it done.

Thank you for posting averroes.
The following stands out to me:
“He also said the conference further would consider whether it should continue using a divisional alignment and assess the non-league and league scheduling in place, plus start times.”
I am not making any assumptions just read between the lines.
This offers the possibility for a new media partner to partner with the PAC12 and geographically design what is best for both. It does not take a mind reader to foresee amazon jumping right in for what it offers to the public at large. It also kicks in the cojones it biggest rival…mickey mouse that is. mickey mouse bought 20th Century Fox a few months ago. This in itself limits amazon media portfolio. You combine a major P5 with the NFL and amazon can have a Wholefoods infomercial at half time. Everybody wins and everybody eats healthier.
Agree. UH/PAC 12 will only have to split Houston with SEC. Before, it was B12 and SEC. Fox should be happy to add us since they don’t have any SEC content so what better way to have houston deliver to them thru UH.
I promised y’all a ranked UH against ranked USC will have higher TV rating in Houston then UT/A$M against any SEC opponents outside of Bama and LSU. We saw it during the Herman years and we can do it again. This time with more money and better recruiting. Imaging the likes of Jalen Hurts transfer back to home to play PAC 12 schedules. Houstonian will be watching UH, not UT or A&M.
I understand that. But we’re not getting it done with AAC either. Doubt the new B12 will improved much. All come down to winning. Winning solved everything.

It is all about marketing Chris. It always has been since espn reinvented (for worse) collge football.
“Sir Chris here are your tickets, please allow us to give you a free voucher for $25off on our Wholefoods website. Yes it will be free delivery”
Ok… let’s not go overboard… not only will UT vs A&M have higher ratings in Houston, it would be one of the most watched in college football in general…
From a post on Reddit lol (most likely satire pls don’t take serious)
“My buddy just texted me he got through playing 18 holes at Woodlands Country Club with Chris Pezman. UH has been extended an unofficial offer from the remaining 8 to enter the Big 12. However Pezman communicated to my friend he did not respond to the text because he is hearing rumors from inside sources that Texas Tech and OK State are in the final stages of joining the PAC 12.”
