Kopp and Massoud

Kopp is currently backing up Blaine Gabbert’s brother at Miami (Ohio not Florida), Massoud is starting quarterback for Division 2 University of Mary.

One of the things we were sold on about Dana, is that he’s a quarterback whisperer but that only seems to be with qbs he inherits.

That guy had a rocket for an arm but no touch

Was blowing up the WRs but just could not dial it back

Hey leave Madison Kopp alone. Clearly he is a highly intelligent young man!!

Almost all of his successful quarterbacks are transfers. That is ok. It is very acceptable. The problem is he hasn’t really found that here. He inherited Tune. That is all he has. I give him and his staff credit for his development. But he now has smith. I do t think he is our savior.

Life lesson for Kopp and Massoud. Sometimes things don’t work out as planned.

Good luck to both of them.

How many highly touted QBs had us on their list the last three or four years? Honest question because I do not know.

You don’t hear anyone complaining about transfer QB’s at other schools unless they are flops. I know LSU fans had no complaints about a transfer that never got to play at Ohio State. We don’t know how Smith or Coley will end up doing, but I think 2 games is not enough of a sampling on Smith.

I am all about success anyway it can be delivered. The old days of grooming a successor for a player are gone. High caliber recruits will bail to go play immediately. So portal away and find success!

How are you able to consistently make inane posts? You are a machine.

It’s kind of the same in the NFL for most teams.

Could Justin Fields be good in Chicago? Same for Stroud?

They may be broken before they get a chance to learn or pick up some bad habits or labeled a bust.

But look at Green Bay. They draft Aaron Rodgers and let him sit behind Favre for three years. He turns out to be pretty good. Then they draft Jordan Love and he sits for three years behind Rodgers. And–small sample–but he looks like he has a lot of potential to be really good.

Point is it’s a tough position. “Thinking” at QB is not a recipe for success. They have to “know” and just “act.” They can only do that through a lot of learning.

There are exceptions. Maybe David Carr could have been good, but he was running for his life from game 1, and that probably affected his development.

JMHO, but throwing a new QB out at the college or pro level, even with all the physical attributes, doesn’t work out well more often than not, it seems to me.

“Kopp – a quarterback who started the Buffaloes’ last game in 2022 – was in the front row last December, among those suddenly told their services were no longer needed by Coach Prime.”

“Kopp was recently denied a waiver request by the NCAA to transfer a second time as he sought immediate eligibility with the RedHawks”

In retrospect - Rutgers staff was right when they recruited him as a future B10 quality safety.

You get schools all the way from Bismark, ND ?
That’s cool.

Massoud is playing some, not full time at the University of Mary which is a school that has attended the Senior Showcase in the past
