Kudos to UH Offensive Line

Probably the most criticized position group at UH the last two years. I think this group needs special recognition for their performance in the Texas Bowl.

Most of this year’s OL was new, and it took most of the season for them to learn their positions and to trust one another. With commitment and hard work, the OL put it all together for the Texas Bowl. Connor Weigman was not sacked, threw four TDs, Dean Connors ran for 126 yards, and the OL did not have any drive killing penalties. Without UH’s OL performance, UH does not win the Texas Bowl.

I am very happy for these young men.

It’s amazing what happens when you actually Evaluate Talent, Recruit well, and Develop the players…

This is the “Foundation” of Program Building.

Then you game plan based upon what your players do best and focus on the fundamentals and execution.

Biggest needs, going forward, are another stud TE, more O-linemen, and a guy who can return kicks. D-line needs the replace Allen and Walls…

I’ll bet Willie doubles down on Special Teams play all Spring…

So we should keep the oline coach

…and give him a salary bonus. Awesome job and true commitment.

Impressed they didn’t allow a sack other than the illegal one where LSU tried to take CW’s head off.

Most of the OL is leaving so going to have to reload. Hopefully we can get some good ones in the transfer portal.

They really gelled. Sometimes it takes time… sometimes more than a season…

Think pancake being taken out of the lineup made a difference ?

JL: Thank you for pointing out our OLINE and the great effort and work it did last night.

Yeah, Fritz was pretty pissed and embarrassed by that kickoff return. You could tell he was when he was talking to the eye candy.

Actually, Fritz might have a gift for finding guys in the portal, plugging them in, and making it work. It seems like the guys he got were exactly what we needed.

I said it for you :sunglasses:

Kudos to the refs. Not one offensive holding call

They protected Weigman really well last night and opened up holes in the running game. LSU complained that their line couldn’t do what ours did.

Plus, they had one out there that was easy to look at…LOL!

We lost 3 of the OL starters of last night plus one senior backup. But we have a couple of juniors, a sophomore, and a redshirt freshman returning from the 2 deep. I don’t know when the recruits Fritz got in his first class will be ready or if any of his current batch of freshmen will have anyone that can contribute this or next year.

I am looking forward to the time we don’t have to rely on the portal for many of our players. I understand where we were when CWF took over and the need for portal players, but the sooner we can have guys brought from freshmen to seniors starting the better. Of course we will always look to the portal to fill needs, I just want us not to have many of those needs.
