McMickle showed potential and then got injured. In the meantime, UH recruited other promising QBs.

I was a McMickle fan. I’d still like to see KenJourney hit the portal…just to see what BYU would pay him.
I think McMickle would have played last year if he hadnt gotten hurt. Now with Weigman, Carlisle and Chriss getting the lion’s share of the reps. Makes sense to move on.
McMickle and Tucker were down on the depth chart so no surprise they are transferring. Next week after the Spring game, expect more UH players to hit the portal. In fact, there will be a flood of players entering the portal from other teams. UH may be able to fill some gaps with new players hitting the portal. I would keep an eye on highly rated local players that UH recruited out of high school that learned the grass is not always greener away from home.

I’ll be rooting for McMickle at his next stop. Like @GrayTheCoog stated above, I think he may have got a shot last year if he didn’t get injured.
