We look like crap when you rush the field for anything but number 1 and even then I don’t like it.
Act like we should be winning every week, like it is a normal course of business.

Yes. I was there and jumped to the field. Awesome feeling. My 2 students was so shock … lol, and i told them to jump and they jumped!!!
I totally agree fans (students) should not rush the field, for any reason including safety for all concerned. Especially for a team that just won it’s 4th game this year and against a number 17 ranked opponent. Beat UTurds at home, maybe.
I saw where they let them storm the field and security created a wall and path so the athletes could get to the locker room safely.
Edit: I believe this was for a basketball game.
The CV3 rule was look below you before jumping, don’t be a butthole, and don’t go until the others go. We haven’t had issues.
If I remember right, one time they put the cheer team up against the wall to ‘block’ it, quickly told them to move so they don’t get hurt.
That being said, I witnessed my first field rush in 2015 vs Navy when I was sitting all the way across from the student section. I thought it was so cool! Got to rush in 2021, 2023, and now 2024. I really hope we get a legendary sellout crowd rush before I do my defense.
If you rush TDECU, that first jump is a doozy. Real ankle and knee breaker if ur unprepared.
This is the type of public service advisory that helps the athletic community. The people that I’ve tailgated with would go over head first considering how much they drink.
Well, the first field rush that I can remember at UH was way back in 1996 when we beat then #20 SoMiss to all but ensure a CUSA title in one of the first games played back at Robertson.
I’ve been going to UH games since 1977, but I don’t remember a UH field rush before that. Was there ever a field rush at the Dome? I don’t remember one.
No field rushes at The Dome.
But at TDECU it can be done. And should be done.
What do we think will happen at Tiger Stadium Saturday night if they beat Alabama? 100,000 on the field?
Not for the students on the court level seats behind the announcers.
Yes, I remember. It was an epic night.
Two things - Rice only has about 30 fans, so no real danger of anyone getting hurt. Second, make sure there are photos of everyone that “rushes” the field. Then locate them and divy up the fine amongst them . . . . .
Only commenting on the PA announcer part.
Believe 2 not make that announcement = Stadium Duty of Care failure.
MUST inform patrons of all known dangers. Failure leads to premise liability.
UH colored glasses.
What makes more life long fans than that ?
A ranked home win vs B12 grown folk program.
Things are so looking up.
If everyone that supports “rushing” the field would get together and pay for an insurance policy to indemnify UH from any financial harm, and keep enough $ on hand to pay for the conference fines, theg get after it . . . . .
