I know this is not football but what Lindsey Vonn accomplished today is historical.

Lindsey has had countless surgeries. She retired at the top. Everybody thought that her body decided for her. Seven years later she is back at the top of the downhill world. This is even more impressive…
Simply remarkable.
At 41 years of age!
Always liked her… determination too.
Twice in one week, Lindsey Vonn and Phillip Rivers.
I love that chronologically, they are past their prime, but still have that fire and gas left in the tank.
Keep amazing everyone.
She and Bode Miller were the World Cup bad asses in their day. Miller winning medals in the Super G and Downhill when he was considered a technical skier just shows how special he really was. Dude could have brought home a dozen medals if it wasn’t for the crashed and injuries.
Not a fan of Vonn.
We are a team Shiffrin house.
I wish Beaver Creek hosted women again this year, but it seems with the lame snowfall, you couldn’t even ski to the men’s races last week.

I prefer Shifrin too but what Vonn has done is amazing. Yes, slaloms requires more “sudden moves” but at her age and the injuries she went through is truly remarkable. Love the sport. Nothing like going down hill full speed.

Why not both? Mikaela is more technical at this point in her career, so they complement each other.
Both Shiffrin and Vonn have lived near Vail. One has a fantastic reputation, one does not.
Katie, I am with you on the personal “angle”. The reason I posted this is for the accomplishment. Truly historical. I have been around snow skiing since I was about five. Love the sport. I grew up on ice slopes in Europe. The snow here is outstanding.
Since this is already off topic.
Just hope anyone judging her personal life, when accessing her professional work, also hold Art Briles accountable for his mistakes, ones made in a professional capacity, instead of giving him a pass.
What did she do bad in her personal life?
Lindsey Vonn can do no wrong in my book!
If it ain’t snowin, then I ain’t goin!! ![]()
How big of an ego do you have to have to compete in the Winter Olympics with a torn ACL? I get persistence and determination, but you are taking a position away from a fully healthy athlete.
yeeeeep, pretty d!ck move
she was going to be on the team with a week to go, unlikely some else would be ready. if she can ski, she’s got the advantage over most everyone else; she has won on that course 12 times; she knows it better than anyone that doesn’t live on it.
as for not liking her because of the off hill stuff; she’s just a reflection of society; can’t hold that against her; houston loved hames harden and he was quite disgusting.
Lindsey Vonn officially qualified for the 2026 Olympics. You probably can’t disqualify her on the probability of her success or failure. End of story.
