List of 100-point games in college football - Wikipedia

Ok?

I always point out the GT vs Cumberland 220-0 ‘record’ is bogus. It was an exhibition game to satisfy a contractual obligation.

Cumberland had literally disbanded their football program THE PREVIOUS YEAR. They had the baseball coach put together a team of students, dozen or so frat guys, in order to not face a $3000 lawsuit.

Also, John Heisman (yea, that Heisman) who coached the GT football teams…was the baseball coach for GT when Cumberland beat them 22-0. No coincidence that game was 222-0. Here’s a quote from Heisman’s letter to Cumberland:

“I hereby offer you the sum of $500 and an all-expenses-paid trip to Atlanta for your football team on the condition that you honor your contract by participating in and completing the Cumberland-Georgia Tech football game … However, if this offer is refused … I shall be forced to demand that your school reimburse the Tech Athletic Dept. in the amount of $3,000 for losses from the projected net gate receipts …”

What an arse.

UH vs Tulsa actually the last true game one on one between D1 opponents where one got 100 pts scored on them. I see Tulsa did it at least 4 times to there opponents scoring a 100 or more pts on that list. karmic pay back, I guess us doing it to them.

Tulsa beat down was my first Coog football game.

i had no idea the coogs scored like that outside the run and shoot days, that 1968 team was likely a helluva a lot of fun to watch, winning scores of 100, 77, 71 and 54 that year: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1968_Houston_Cougars_football_team

Yeah but it was the (option) Veer offense, so not exactly bombing it over the field like Andre and the Run-N-Shoot guys.

lesser talent opponents in 1968, tulsa, idaho than the swc probably but the run and shoot didnt line up those scores in one season, i was impressed.

Pardee should have put 100+ on SMU in 1989.

Jenkins was going to before Pardee yelled at him and threatened to fire him if he did.

I was hoping they would, but Pardee being the type of man he was, wasn’t going to let happen

95-21

Thirty years ago this week, the 1989 SMU team was on the receiving end of the biggest offensive pounding in college football history. On Oct. 21, 1989, Houston put up 1,021 total yards in a 95-21 win over the Mustangs, the only time anyone in the NCAA has racked up 1,000 yards in a game.

JJ was an Offensive genius
