So the Locked On network chose someone who lives outside of Dallas with a master’s from SMU to host a UH podcast? When he mentioned “Nathaniel Caesar”, I bailed
Agreed, very poor choice.
I think the Locked on Big 12 guy is a VT grad who lives in Richmond…
The host grew up in Houston and went to a D3 school for his bachelor’s.
The fact that we now have a daily coogs podcast is a good thing.
Maybe he’s been a Coog fan since he was a little kid–fair enough. No argument that a daily Coog podcast is a good thing. That first episode was not a stellar start, though, and when I heard him mispronouncing the name of a pretty prominent player, it made me take a look at who this guy is. Seeing more ties to Austin and Dallas and nothing to Houston (at least on his LinkedIn page) did not bode well.
If I didn’t know that there were more qualified people that reached out about a Locked on Houston I wouldn’t be as annoyed by their pick as I am. (Though truthfully I’m willing to just wait and see.)
Instead of worrying about who is QUALIFIED ENOUGH to be a Coogfan, we should welcome everyone to Coog Nation whether they are old die hards or new t-shirt fans.
Lord knows we need all the fan suppoert we can get!
Anyone who is willing to invest the time and effort to produce UH focused content for our fanbase deserves our support more than criticism.
Be a part of the solution not the problem.
